Now, the Back-to-School Health Fair is something we look forward to every year. What started as a small conversation has grown into an event filled with school physicals, immunizations, hearing screenings, backpacks full of school supplies, food trucks, a prayer tent, and community resource vendors, all offered completely free to families. More than anything, it has become a place where we hope people feel seen, cared for, and welcomed. A place where love is tangible.

We had a visit from the Burpee Reptile Outreach team back in June and our kids got to learn all about reptiles.

RHK is excited to welcome Tiffany Mariani-McDevitt to our staff. Tiffany is our new Assistant Program Coordinator.

If someone asked me about being a volunteer, I would say YES! It’s kind of neat to see kids that are hungry are getting their supper from us. That's why I volunteer.

Our Open House on June 11 was such a great time! We weren’t sure what to expect with the prosect of bad storms coming through, but despite the weather, we still had 50 guests attend.

Huzzah! We had a blast last week at Medieval Times.

Our middle school teens just finished up a 10-week program called “Too Good for Drugs.”

Most nonprofits work in two to three of these areas. At RHK, we hit each area. We help meet the immediate needs of the kids who come through the doors of RHK by making sure they are being fed and receiving their daily necessities. We work hard to make sure they hear Biblical truths and learn the ways of the streets are not what the Lord has for them.

My name is Mike. I grew up in Crystal Lake, IL, and graduated college at SIU. I am the finance coordinator for Rock House Kids, but my most important job is being a father to my three sons and a devoted husband to my beautiful wife, Laura.
