RHK Volunteer Spotlight: Thad Andrews

Hi, my name is Thad Andrews, and this is my story.

When I was 16 months old, I survived spinal meningitis, pneumonia, and an ear infection, but I was left with epilepsy. Looking back, I know that was the first miracle God gave me.

Growing up wasn't easy. Because of my seizures, I was teased, struggled to fit in, and spent years believing I wasn't worth much. After some painful experiences in high school, I even tried to take my own life three times. But God had other plans.

During my junior year, I made a promise to God that if He helped me through it, I would spend my life helping kids. I didn't realize it then, but He had already started preparing me. Through jobs, 4-H, AWANA, online mentoring, and now Rock House Kids, He's shown me where I belong.

It took me several years to stop telling God I wasn't good enough, even to volunteer at Rock House Kids. Now I love spending time with the kids, playing games, and simply being there for them.
