Our middle school teens just finished up a 10-week program called “Too Good for Drugs.”

Most nonprofits work in two to three of these areas. At RHK, we hit each area. We help meet the immediate needs of the kids who come through the doors of RHK by making sure they are being fed and receiving their daily necessities. We work hard to make sure they hear Biblical truths and learn the ways of the streets are not what the Lord has for them.

School’s out and the kids are on break! Your donations help us continue to consistently serve our kids throughout the summer, as well as during the school year.

If you have ever wondered what it is like for our kids and volunteers at RHK, we encourage you to come to our RHK Open House on June 11. Our staff will give you a tour, walking you through what a night at our evening program looks like.

Faith is a big part in my life, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to join in on the teaching and friendships I share with the Rock House family.

We had a wonderful visit from our friend Maisie from LaMision Coffee Roasting today. Every month, Eddie and Maisie choose a local organization to bless with 25% of the proceeds for the month, and RHK was chosen for the month of April. What a blessing! Thank you. My name is Mike. I grew up in Crystal Lake, IL, and graduated college at SIU. I am the finance coordinator for Rock House Kids, but my most important job is being a father to my three sons and a devoted husband to my beautiful wife, Laura.

As you step up each month to provide the basic essentials for our kids, you are not just giving items, but instilling a sense of confidence and dignity.

Last month, Rock House Kids joyfully accepted a check for a $25,000 grant from the Derry Family Foundation.

These are just a few exciting things happening lately. But the biggest news happened when someone from Rockford Ridge (formerly known as Concord Commons), a housing development on the west side of Rockford, reached out to us. They asked if we would be interested in having an RHK site on their property. I have learned - when God opens a door, we need to walk through it.

What a great time we had celebrating our faithful, hard-working team of volunteers last Friday. We are blessed!

What a great night! We want to give our thanks to everyone who came out for Rock N Bowl on Saturday. The team spirit was amazing and we are in awe of the talented bowlers who came out. (Can you believe one young lady bowled a 300 game?!?!) We had so much fun with you all and can't wait to do it again next year! We had a great surprise visit today from our friends at First Northern Credit Union. Over the course of just one month, their members collected a total of $1800 to support the kids at RHK! What a blessing! We want to thank each one who gave to make this possible. You guys rock!

Thank you to all of our RHK volunteers for how you continue to show up on the hard days and love our kids well. They catch a glimpse of Jesus by being seen and known and cared for in one way or another, by each and every one of you.

What stood out the most for the group though, was how they saw God at work. They were challenged by their chapel speaker to "take of their masks" - remove the guard they put up to keep people from seeing them for who they are and just be real with each other.
