Meet Becky. She and her husband of 27 years have a beautiful family, with four adult children. Becky went to college in Pensacola, FL and became a nurse. She’s worked largely in clinic and homecare settings. In recent years, her focus has been training and optimizing healthcare workers’ use of the computer system.
Becky started volunteering in our Teens program last November. She spent several years working with youth who live in challenging situations and the Lord kept her heart tender towards them. When her life slowed down some, she wanted to find a way to impact youth for the Lord. She remembered hearing about RHK, and thought volunteering seemed like a great way to help reach youth for the Lord.
She said “I love when one of the girls asks questions in small group and you can tell they are really trying to learn and understand about the Lord.” She knows RHK is where God wants her and says her favorite part is having the privilege of watching God work in the live of the kids who come.
Knowing God promises His Word will not return void-even when we don’t see immediate results is what motivates her in her ministry here. God is working and He has the ability to bring truth to kids minds even years from now.
Becky said she would tell anyone thinking about volunteering at RHK: “RHK is a great organization that uses its resources wisely. They have the kids’ best interests at heart and passionately work to point the kids to Jesus. There may be nights when it’s not easy, but keep your eye on the goal, leave your ministry in God’s capable hands and remember you are pointing kids to Jesus-that makes it worth coming back every week.”
