Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Drake Grindle

My name is Drake. Born and raised in Rockford, I attended Rockford Christian Schools and graduated from Rock Valley College. I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I am a financial advisor at Savant Wealth Management, but my most important and fulfilling job is being a dad to our daughter, Delilah, and newborn son, Dane, and husband to my wife, Danielle.

I volunteer at Rock House Kids to help move the dial in a positive direction for every kid who walks through the RHK front door. I’ve been serving food to the kids as a kitchen volunteer for almost five years, and more recently, I also began to serve on the RHK Board of Directors.

The reason I keep coming back is the kids! They are always full of energy. I can tell they enjoy the safe space RHK provides and the friendships they’ve developed with each other. I also serve with a great volunteer group, and it’s been a pleasure getting to know them over the years and being a part of a group that genuinely wants to help Rockford’s inner-city youth.

If you are interested in a faith-based organization and helping kids, RHK is the place. RHK meets the kids where they are at in life and provides the resources (physical, emotional, educational) that they might otherwise not receive in their daily lives.
