RHK hosted our first Back to School Health Fair on August 16th. We didn’t know how many people to expect, so we got excited when several families came early and lined up outside the gate for a half an hour or more, waiting for the event to start.
We planned to go from 4-7 PM, but when rain began to pour down around 5:45, we had to close down early. Amazingly, we had already run out of backpacks (we started with 250 filled with school supplies), and most of the food and produce boxes had been given out. Next year, we will need to plan for more people!
We are so thankful for the wonderful sponsors who provided their services: Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, the Crusader Clinic, the Lions' Club, Burch Dental, and Forest City Church. We already can't wait to do it again next year!
