Aktion Club of Rockford Donates New Bench to RHK

A very special celebration was held at RHK this week. Aktion Club and Kiwanis Club members gathered in our gym to present us with a new bench for our kids to enjoy on the playground. It's a beautiful blue bench, but that isn't what makes this bench so special. It's not what it looks like, but what it is made of and the work that went into making it. For nearly three years, members of the Aktion Club worked hard collecting plastic bottle caps - 200 lbs of caps, to be exact. Then, all those caps were taken to Evansville, IN where they were recycled into the bench our kids now get to enjoy.

We are both grateful and humbled to receive such a gift. Aktion Club, your hard work and commitment to this project set an incredible example for others to follow. Thank you! You guys rock!!!!
