Looking Back: The Thankful Chair

Rock House Kids is celebrating 25 years of ministry to Rockford's inner-city kids in 2024!

In the month of November, our minds turn to the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. At RHK, one tradition our founder started early on with the kids is our "Thankful Chair". Each year just before Thanksgiving, the kids (and adults) can take a turn coming to the front to sit in the chair. Then they share with the group what they are most thankful for that year. Often, they give thanks for their mom, their family, their friends. Other may share thankfulness for RHK, their leaders, and God.

It is a great time to stop and appreciate all of God's blessings.
