This past Monday, July 8, was exactly one year after Destiny, one of our Rock House kids, lost her life. We spent some time honoring this sweet girl throughout the evening.
Pink and purple were Destiny's favorite colors, and the more sparkle the better! So, when the kids came in from the playground for dinner, they each received a bright pink light-up flower lei to wear. The tables were covered with pink tablecloths and had pink lights on them. For dessert, they ate cupcakes with bright pink icing and sparkly glitter.
During our chapel time, Miss Dee led the group in a short time of sharing memories of Destiny, then everyone sang Destiny's favorite praise song - "Every Praise" by Hezekiah Walker.
We thank the Lord for the time Destiny was with us at RHK. She will always be a part of our family.
