My Story
Tarah became a Rockford transplant in 2023, alongside her husband Eric, when they answered a call to ministry at First Free Rockford. Having previously served with kids, teens, and other inner-city ministries, they were looking for volunteer opportunities at Rock House Kids when she fell into the Volunteer Coordinator role as a blessed and unexpected "God surprise." She is honored to serve, care for, and share the love of Jesus with our kids and volunteers alike.
She earned her bachelor's in English, Creative Writing, from IU Indianapolis, but has spent most of her professional career in the non-profit and human resources space.
Though Tarah grew up in church, she didn't give her life to the Lord until 2016. It's been the greatest joy getting to continually follow Him!
She also enjoys reading, walking, hiking, thrifting, gardening, and spending time with her pets.
