My Story
Dee Lacny, known as "Ms. Dee" or Mama Dee" by the kids at RHK, was born and raised in Berwyn, IL. In 1989, she moved to Rockford after marrying her husband, Mike. Together, Dee and Mike raised three children, Brandon, Stephanie, and Megan. Dee homeschooled all three through early education until they entered high school.
Dee's educational background includes an Associate Degree in Accounting and a Bachelor's Degree from Northern Illinois University, where she majored in Finance and minored in Economics. She also holds several professional certifications, including Nonprofit Management, Trauma-Informed Care, CPR, Mental Health First Aid, and Certified CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Instructor.
When asked to describe a perfect day, Dee envisions a cloudy autumn afternoon with a cup of coffee, a good book, and a dog by her side. Fortunately, she had several to choose from.
Dee is deeply grateful that the Lord has allowed her to share life with so many incredible people at RHK. As she reflects on her journey, she says: "I can't imagine my life without all the people who have crossed my path since I've been at RHK. Some days are filled with laughter, while others bring sadness. I wouldn't trade any of them, because where there are deep feelings, there is love."
