My Story
Tarah was born and raised in Greenwood, Indiana but became a Rockford transplant in September 2023, alongside her husband, Eric, and their many four-legged creatures, when they accepted a call to ministry at First Free Rockford.
Though she grew up in church, Tarah didn't truly meet the Lord until 2016, when He wrecked her life in the best way possible. She's been fully surrendered to Him ever since and thankful to have the truest friend in Jesus.
She earned her bachelor's in English, Creative Writing, from IU Indianapolis, but has spent most of her professional career in the non-profit and human resources space, with a passion for coming alongside and serving others.
Having previously served with kids, teens, and other inner-city ministries, Tarah and Eric were looking to volunteer at Rock House Kids when she fell into the Volunteer Coordinator role as a blessed and unexpected "God surprise." She is so excited to be part of such a passionate team of people, serving those in need, and caring for kids and volunteers alike.
She loves reading, hiking, thrifting, gardening, and has a huge heart for animals. But above all, she just wants to do any and all things for God’s glory.
