My Story
April started out as an intern for us here at Rock House Kids through her Bachelors of Human Services program at Judson University in 2018. After finishing her internship, she enjoyed serving in many areas of programming, and stayed for an extra year to help out wherever she was needed. Whether it was running the slides, signing the children in, sitting in the time out area, being an extra set of eyes, taking pictures, setting up for giveaways, or helping a teacher out for the night, she always enjoyed serving. Walking back through the doors after being gone for almost two years reminded her of just how much Rock House Kids was a part of her.
After a few attempts at trying to get employment at RHK, it was finally the right time and we were able to utilize her organizational skills and drive to serve God’s children. Knowing she knew Rock House Kids like the back of her hand, we knew she would be the right fit for this position. She is responsible for organizing our storeroom donations and purchases, working with outside organization donations, creating monthly program giveaways, managing behind the scenes volunteers & service workers, and much more!
Through Central Christian Church, she has volunteered in different ministries, including helping in the nursery and being a youth group sponsor. On top of that, she uses her gift of videography and photography whenever it is needed for the tech team, events, and holidays. April has always felt called to help people in many capacities, so to do it for a job is really rewarding for her. God has brought her here for a reason, and we can’t wait to see how she serves the Lord and His children in this ministry to come.
